  • CHRIS CLARK- Keyboards/Vocals

Trumpet, Flugel Horn, Keyboards, Vocalist, Arranger

Chris started playing music aged 11 in school bands. He joined Her Majesty's Coldstream Guards Band aged 15, winning the Frank Wright Cornet Competition at the Royal Military School of Music (Kneller Hall) in 1975.

He left the Coldstream Guards Band in 1978 to pursue a professional freelance career and, since that time, has worked mostly on the jazz/light music side of the music business.

He has worked on TV, Radio and played in various West End musicals including 'Guys and Dolls' (National Theatre), 'Starlight Express' (Victoria Apollo), and 'Jesus Christ Superstar' (Palace Theatre).

Over the last 10 years Chris has been running his own bands - The Bogus Blues Brothers (Blues Brothers tribute), Stealing Dan and Don, and Polished Brass (Brass Ensemble playing Jazz and Light Classical). These bands play mostly Chris' own arrangements and have worked at many prestigious venues in Britain, Europe and the USA.

Jeremy began his professional musical career playing with the Thames Television Band and quickly moved into the jazz scene, playing at recognised venues such as Ronnie's and other clubs in London and around the country. In the past few years he has worked with several modern jazz outfits, notably Sticky Fingers, on the London jazz scene. He also plays with a jazz guitar duo which performs in many situations. He joined Stealing Dan and Don in 1997.

Jeremy has a large teaching practice which includes playing bass guitar with the educational band Baroque to Rock, visiting schools demonstrating live music. His vocal version of 'Chain Lightning.' can be found at www.baroquetorock.freeserve.co.uk.

Jeremy is currently performing with the fab groovy Austin Powers Tribute Band, The Shagadeliks, www.shagadelik.co.uk. He also plays bass guitar with function band Soul Discretion.

Jeremy is a really dedicated Steely Dan man and amongst his favourite guitarists and musicians are Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour, Steve Kahn and Mike Brecker.

The multi-talented Ed Spevock has been a professional drummer and percussionist for over twenty years, performing with such artists as Cat Stevens, Jimmy Cliff and Jack Bruce to name but a few. In the Seventies he was to be found as the regular drummer with such bands as 'Babe Ruth', 'Chicken Shack and 'The Peddlers'. Christmas 1999 saw Ed performing in the West End musical 'Great Balls of Fire', and amongst the other shows Ed has performed in are 'Snoopy', 'Disgracefully Yours' and 'Are You Lonesome Tonight?'

  • STEWART CURTIS - Alto Sax

Multi-Instrumentalist, Writer, Arranger, Bandleader.

Since the early 80’s Stewart has worked & recorded with Mari Wilson & the Wilsations, Nik Kershaw, Tracey Ullman, Germaine Stewart, Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Percy Sledge, Selina Jones, Festival Klezmer Band, Roberto Plas, Orchestra Folia, The Bogus Blues Brothers.....etc...... During the 90’s he has been heard in several West End Shows, on numerous TV themes, plus the house band on Channel 4’s Viva Cabaret & BBC 1’s Ben Elton Show. Recently he recorded a series of 'Sax Moods' albums for Woolworths !

Stewart's own band, 'K-Groove', has just completed it's 2nd Album, 'Smoked Salmon Salsa'. It has a fresh approach to World Music, fusing Eastern European & Middle Eastern melodies with jazz dance grooves.

This quirky yet highly entertaining album, containing Klezmer, Greek, Yiddish & South American folk songs, has been blended together by Stewart’s imaginative & humorous writing. His first album 'Too Loud for Dinner' was released in 1995 by Mabley Street Productions and was distributed by Grapevine via Polygram.

  • BOB McKAY- Baritone Sax

  • RICHARD PARDY- Tenor Sax

A versatile soloist on saxophones, clarinet and flute, Richard's wide experience in the music industry has included tours with Martha Reeves, Marty Wilde, Ben E King, The Drifters and Jimmy Ruffin, and extensive work in many stage shows such as 'Tribute to the Carpenters', 'Sweet Home Chicago', 'Hot Shoe Shuffle' and 'Guys 'n' Dolls'. He has big band experience with Freddy Staff, String of Pearls, Ray McVay, Andy Ross, NYJO and Top Brass.

His session work incorporates a variety of ads and jingles for TV and radio, regional ITV, live performance on BBC Pebble Mill and he recently appeared in 'Eyes Wide Shut', a film starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.

He has featured with many notable jazz artists, and performed at festivals with his own ensemble. Check out tracks from his first CD 'under the orange tree' released in 1996, comprising eight original compositions.
